A gun for home defense generally strikes me as beyond silly: home invasions, unless there are specific risk factors (usually being in the illicit pharmaceutical trade) don't happen.

I had a student who wondered about home defense. They followed my advice and got an aluminum baseball bat instead.

/2 People who do law apprenticeships like she did have a much lower passage rate, closer to 25%. Karsashian is super fortunate and privileged but people like her often don’t have anyone close to them who will say “this isn’t a realistic idea and you should reconsider.”
