Over 1,200 people lost their lives due to police violence in 2024. 1 life is too many. Every year the number keeps increasing with little to no consequences - only 10 of the officers involved in these cases were charged.

Incarcerated people and their families pay thousands of dollars every year just to communicate with their loved ones either via phone or video call. And now those prices are about to increase, again. No one deserves to be cut off from the outside world, and this new rule could change that for some.

On Thursday, Anthony Boyd will be executed in Alabama - even though he's been wrongfully convicted for 30 years. Anthony does not deserve to face death for a crime he did not commit.

The current administration keeps saying that dangerous things are happening in sanctuary cities - yet crimes rates are at their lowest. They also said that they would only detain and deport people with violent backgrounds, but that's definitely not what is happening here.

A notable uptick of executions have happened this year - and many things are to blame. NC hasn't had an execution in over 19 years, but now our General Assembly is thinking about revisiting resuming them again.
