A simply stunning, healing piece that moved me deeply. I'll be thinking about this for a long while.

THANK YOU, ever so much @intrepidusink.bsky.social! 😍💜I’m honored to be published alongside so many incredible authors, and hope readers will enjoy this little story.

Here’s its opening. Thank you!!

In “Cross the Line,” the theme of how resource scarcity can warp people's behaviours was the vehicle that launched the protagonist into his journey. Though unprepared, he's challenged to commandeer it towards achieving his goals—but he's not the only one with a mission.

Speculative fiction opens a fantastical world of possibilities I itch to explore. It's easy to forget that those worlds only exist because of characters driven by very real goals. I want my stories to reflect how THEIR choices make those incredible worlds possible.

Thank you @intrepidusink.bsky.social!

My writing journey began with a love for both science & fiction. Discovering a world on the cusp of both was incredible! I wanted to share its stories, & realized the best way to learn was to dive into it rather than wait to become my best writer version.

Sometimes, a piece just speaks to you on a really personal level. This from @suzannehicks.bsky.social hit me somewhere deep down.
Today's shortlisted story is "You want to peel back your skin" by @suzannehicks.bsky.social. Congratulations, Suzanne. A breathless story woven with such a resonant depth of pain and yearning.
