Pretty good at pub quizzes (except for the faces round)
For me, the game changer was discovering Ctrl-r, which searches said history for a previously entered command.

The fake pin serves an extra function: UK sockets have safety covers that only get pushed out of the way when the grounding pin is inserted. Also, note that the grounding pin is longer so on a grounded plug ground is always connected before the live wires (more reasons UK plug/sockets are OP 😀)

Sorry, it's a joke 😀: Standard UK plugs have 3 rectangular prongs. Yours looks like a hybrid with the round EU prongs and the rectangular UK ground pin:

One of the things I find refreshing when reading old computing papers is how *much* they draw on the author’s personal experience! It makes the article much more engaging and relatable compared to one designed to preempt criticism from Reviewer 2.
