I have to agree. I am dumbfounded by this maneuver.
They have fired the staff of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report and 70 Epidemic Intelligence Service officers, who are disease detectives that respond to outbreaks around the world.

I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous it is to dismantle our disease surveillance infrastructure.

At the end of a depressing month, we can enjoy the Fat Bear Week champion, Chunk, who overcame adversity to win the crown. With thanks to all the Park Rangers and staff at Katmai NP for also struggle with their own adversities...
Fat Bear Week has a new champion. And he’s a total ‘Chunk.’
This year’s Fat Bear Week champion offers a lesson in persistence. Or he’s just a bear that ate a lot of salmon.

PLEASE! Whatever you do, do not take medical advice from Trump and RFKJ. Just don't.

From a worried physician.

This is such an important point. Anyone can make reports to VAERS about any incident or event possibly related to a vaccine. These reports must then be studied and evaluated, which takes time, money and scientific knowledge and skill.

Well said.
I condemn violence and murder in all its forms, including the shooting of Charlie Kirk.

Also, Charlie Kirk was a racist, transphobic, homophobic, anti-democratic ‘activist’ who helped make this country a worse, less just place for millions of people.

These statements are not contradictory.

Wow. Just speechless at the collapse of what had been the shining star of public health, the CDC. Read their resignation letters. They are powerful.
The ousting of Dr. Susan Monarez as CDC Director, followed within hours by the resignations of Dr. Deb Houry, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, and Dr. Daniel Jernigan, mark a collapse of public health leadership with consequences that reach every American household.

NEW: In an unprecedented move, the NIH will soon disinvite dozens of scientists about to take positions on advisory councils that make final decisions on grant funding.

NIH staff were told to select others aligned with the Trump administration and told to expect placements by political appointees.
Exclusive: NIH to dismiss dozens of grant reviewers to align with Trump priorities

The Hemophilus influenza vaccine was introduced in 1985. I was a Family Med resident from 83 to 86. I saw first hand the dramatic drop in sick, hospitalized babies. The residents I taught from 1990 onwards never knew what that was like. I fear they will see H. Flu sick babies again soon.

You're fired, you're fired, everyone is fired. This is what RFK Jr did today to CDC vaccine advisory panel.

Sound alarms, this is a dismantling of science that public health is built on.

Agreed. There is so much wrong with RFK's report! Smoking, poverty, adverse childhood events... totally important in children's health, but neglected here.
The reality is: Kids’ health is poor in the US because Republicans have systematically defunded hospitals and medical care for kids, and Republicans’ corporate allies have gutted parents’ pay, left many areas as food deserts, and concentrated wealth into a billionaire oligarchy.
