This has been a core aspect of heaven for me for as long as I can remember, glad I'm not the only one

I disagree. But the fact that we can have civilized discourse here speaks to the culture Bluesky has cultivated on this app.

I'm not enraged, just exhausted after millennia of hate and abuse. But please go on, what point am I missing?

"When you see a Jewish person walk down the street you don't know." This is a very narrow statement, completely erases the Hasidim and Haredim (and others who dress visibly Jewish) that get assaulted regularly for how they look

I don't know, I just feel like some of this stuff really isn't that nuanced.

I like almost everything else I've heard about him it's just this one (admittedly close to home) issue that he rubs me the wrong way on.

I hear what you're saying, but I just don't know that I buy it. The problem I have isn't that he (and people like him) hates Jews, it's that when a Jew is pro-Israel suddenly certain things are ok. They just can't see the trees for the forest if that makes sense

Plus there was that tepid response to the vandalization of the Jewish-owned bakery but that was so long ago now that I can't find the article

I understand wanting to avoid talking about it, but when he does talk about it he sounds like he's at gunpoint. In response to Jews feeling uncomfortable about "globalize the intifada" his response is "Palestinians are dying" rather than make an effort to bridge that gap.

Like with "globalize the intifada," there are real reasons why many Jews are uncomfortable with that term but he's just talking with how it's "language policing," a thing leftists do all the time for other minority groups who have issues with how we use language.
