Same, same, same. If it helps, now that my Cubbies are out, I’m rooting for the Mariners.

My mom made homemade jelly and gave me a jar to share with my staff at work. I kept forgetting to bring it to work but finally remembered today! And it fell out of my bag in my garage and shattered all over the concrete. Not only did I ruin the jelly, but I was late to work from cleaning it up.

This is a GREAT tactic for fifth graders! Some of them will genuinely want to help and it’ll engage them.

That’s exciting! And hey, maybe if you sub there enough, you’ll start to pick it up!

I think it largely depends on the printer.

Sometimes there’s a setting in your print configuration screen to choose “booklet” as an option. For my printer at work it’s in the same section as the scaling section.

WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

Fortunately, my covenant specifically encourages native plants and keeping the land as undeveloped as possible. I only had a brief moment where the HOA didn’t like how much the plants were encroaching on my driveway, so I cut them back a bit and they were satisfied.

This is the one place where my lack of effort pays off. My house was a new build when I moved in and didn’t come with a lawn. I didn’t want the effort of putting one in, and certainly didn’t want to mow it, so I’ve pretty much let my property do its own thing. Now native plants abound!

Excellent Dad joke. No notes.

If he persists, there’s always, “I’ve made clear that I don’t want and don’t appreciate comments about my appearance. If it happens again, I will end the conversation immediately and walk away.”
May 26, 2025 at 7:51 AM
I’ve used “my appearance isn’t up for discussion [commentary], please refrain from doing so” and “I don’t care to discuss my body with you” with a subordinate at work who wouldn’t stop commenting. I’ve also heard “I’m not seeking feedback on that, thanks” as an option. But whyyyyy is this a thing?!

I forgot to mention they have pockets!

I know some are trying to avoid Amazon but I highly recommend these joggers. They’re soft, drawstring, come in a bajillion colors/patterns, and they are size-inclusive. I generally wear size 22 pants and the 3Xs are good for house pants. (I’d maybe want one size bigger for public.) a.co/d/fGqlrA5

I had to change my password for all of my work access today and I keep entering the old one before I remember.

Congratulations! What a huge accomplishment! I know it’s been difficult. You should be really proud of yourself.

(Brought to you by my currently staring at the Teams waiting room screen wondering if this meeting is happening today.) Also, we’re in the end stages of the deliverables. As in, we’re in the implementation phase and we’re doing migration starting on Monday. Go-live is the Monday after that.

I’m working on a project with a scheduled weekly check in. It’s a recurring appointment set by the designer. The designer routinely doesn’t show for this meeting, with no warning or communication. And because they set it up with a waiting room, no one else can use the meeting either.

I want to play! I don’t have your PayPal but I do have hers. @nvincblesummer.bsky.social can I send some money to you pass on to Tessa?

Yes. My accrued PTO pays out at 100% and my accrued sick leave pays out at 90%. I think it’s rare to have separate sick leave, especially that pays out.

Ah, local government in action. Or rather, local government inaction.

So I called them today to find out what’s going on, and it turns out, they’re just THAT behind on approvals.

It’s nice to have some context (limited though it may be) for some of the pedagogy and educational theory being used on the instructional side (I work on the business side).
