There’s nothing left of the famous Rashōmon gate in Kyoto (contemporarily referenced in the movie of the same name) except a stone marker. I love that it’s in the middle of a playground.

One of these insanely sensible things you see all over Japan. A simple single tile at a subway entrance marking compass direction for simple way finding when you exit.
