#30DaysWild Day 30: My washing line bird feeding station is now fully assembled. Also, this allows the first two wildlife cameras in my new garden to now have a slightly more permanent home.

#30DaysWild Day 29: Spent a couple of hours in the garden digging in two posts, ready to install a Washing Line Bird Feeding Station. I have temporarily set up the standard feeders whilst I wait for the posts to set.

#30DaysWild Day 28: continued... just walked home. Spotted a tawny owl swooping in to some large trees in someone's front garden, probably to feed its very noisy young.

#30DaysWild Day 28: Opted to walk rather than drive today. My usual 5 minute journey was a 30 minute walk around and across fields. A route I haven't taken since I used to walk home from school, so many years ago. Was hoping to see swifts but sadly not today.

#30DaysWild Day 27: Today's moment with nature was unplanned. I woke up around 4 o'clock and could hear the dawn chorus. So rather than going back to sleep I went to the window to listen some more.

#30DaysWild Day 26: Needed to paint some wooden posts ready for a weekend project, so moved them outside. Not because I needed more space or to be free from fumes but so I could be 5 meters from open countryside.

#30DaysWild Day 25: Spotted my first buzzard flying over my new garden today. It had a crow in tow, trying to encourage it to move on.

#30DaysWild Day 24: My wildlife moment of the day was somewhat unexpected today; as I was replacing the light fitting above the front door, only to find a moth was using it as a shelter from the recent rain.

#30DaysWild Day 23: took the scenic route back from the shops and was treated to a group of house martins crisscrossing the road on their way to and from a barn.

#30DaysWild Day 22: This gang of juvenile robins have been together in my garden for over a week.

#30DaysWild Day 21: During a brief bit of sun before the predicted thunderstorm arrives; I took time to admite my multicoloured #SayNoMow lawn.

#30DaysWild Day 20: My Google Nest Camera says person seen. But I say pigeon.

#30DaysWild Day 19: Surprised to see a hedgehog had decided to use my squirrel picnic bench last night.
June 19, 2025 at 7:24 AM
#30DaysWild Day 18: Installed my freshly painted squirrel picnic bench in my garden. Most birds are currently avoiding it but this magpie was more brave.

#30DaysWild Day 17: Another old project that resurfaced during the house move was my squirrel picnic bench. So I have dusted it off and given it a paint so I can add it to my new garden tomorrow.

#30DaysWild Day 16: As the number of birds in the garden has been increasing; I have installed an extra feeder with a different mix of seeds.

#30DaysWild Day 15: Setup an extra hedgehog feeder at my parents. Unfortunately the camera is out of action, so that will be a project for another time.

#30DaysWild Day 14: Seen my first juvenile robin of the year. Another bird choosing to sunbathe on the edge of my lawn.

#30DaysWild Day 13: continued... more footage of the two hedgehogs in my garden
