Something that's been rattling around in my brain for a few days: In fantasy games, races names like half-orcs and half-elves identify the non- human race like how when we say half-Black or half-Asian we don't name the whiteness. The non-white/non-human identity is the deviation from normalcy.

Rewatching the Bay Transformers films has reminded me of one of my favorite media tropes: when a film rewrites the reason for a historical event.

I edit political videos for one of my clients and sometimes I have to pull clips from FOX news. Y'all, the site is terrible. It buffers, lags, and freezes a lot.
Is that cause so many people are using it? Gosh, I hope not.

I seriously don't get how people watch movies or read books and don't translate those ideas to things in the real world. I was watching the mindless Transformers movies and thoughts about social/political matters popped into my brain.

I'm watching the Bay Transformers films and for a moment, I found it unbelievable that the Transformers were fighting on highways causing mass destruction and people would still drive like nothing is wrong. Then I remembered how we go about our daily lives while genocide happens in front of us.

Are followers of the Sikh faith encouraged to get people to convert and become Sikhs? No. There is no focus on proselytizing people to follow Sikhi. There isn’t even a conversion process or ceremony. But this does not mean there is no effort made to spread the Guru’s wisdom. /1
