All kinds of babies coming... Baby chicks due to hatch Thursday, a new rabbit litter Monday from Jenny and Danny, and another due any minute for Silence and Nardole

The Littlest Helper's tiny bantam game hen is a broody lil monster rn.

Danny might be inside for a while bc he rocks. Made 2 ferret Nation cages into 1 and popped it behind the table. I kinda love it.
2 ferret Nation cages sit on the floor end to end. You can just see that the 2 short sides have half their wall removed where they meet. 3/4 is covered in fleece blanket, and the remaining 1/4 has a litter box, hay and water, and an adorable white rabbit checking it out. A shelf and a small set of drawers sit on top The same cage as previously is seen from across the room. There's a desk on one side and a wall furnace on the other, and a dining table in front. The shelf on top holds school and art supplies.

Sat down to have a snack, & Danny was immediately pressing his face in the bars and standing on his back legs to sniff the door. Until the guilt made me open the door.

He then returned to eating his stick and exploring his litterbox, completely ignoring both me and the door. We're being trained. 🤣
A wire puppy pen is set up on floor tiles. There are pink blankets on the floor inside it, a blue litter box in one corner near a hay rack, and a white rabbit eating sticks and ignoring the photographer and the open door completely.

Had to turn Merry's nest box on its side bc the babies kept escaping and not being able to get in. She also squished one. And has since peed on them. She's feeding them well, but this whole hutch thing is clearly not her cup of tea.

So.. it turns out Ashildr's kits were being fed by both mommas. And on Monday, Merry walled up her own kits and never went back. I ended up moving her and her remaining kits to a hutch to make sure she feeds them.

She is doing so now. Motherhood must be confusing. Poor girl.

Y'all.. we need scheduled posts. It's been a week! Danny had a scare, I think a bladder issue, and stopped eating for a couple days. Very lucky he pulled thru. But he came in for nursing, and now has to be a house bunny till it warms up. I don't think he minds.

LOOK at these BELLIES!!! Photos taken before they should have had dinner... I swear, Merry MUST be helping Ashildr feed them. I've never seen such fat babies. Good thing they don't have to try to walk around all that milk. 🤣🤣🤣

Ashildr has her kits almost a week after Merry! She had 14!!! She's down to 10 now, but they look really good and have huge bellies. Merry guards Ashildr's nest (pic3) and I think feeds them even tho they aren't hers. 🤣
A tiny kit is held up and it's belly is huge and round, skin stretched tight with lots of milk A tiny chocolate kit in a hand, viewed from above its tummy is obviously round. A broken castor rabbit (Merry) guards a plastic tote box of babies that are NOT hers. You can see a cloud of white fur in the box where the babies sleep.

Merry had her babies! 10 beautiful little hippos, in rew, castor, chocolate and broken. Unfortunately, lost 2, but the remaining 8 are growing into chonky monsters! So excited to have these Thumb Bunny lines to play with

Cleaning the colony. The bunnies love bare concrete when it gets warm out.
Half the colony is clean, the floor is scraped and pelleted bedding has been piled at each end.

Rabbit rabbit rabbit!

I'm way behind on posting content... So here's one of Ashildr, being a troublemaker and getting into the feed bin. 😆
A metal garbage can has its lid removed. You can see the top of a feed bag sticking out. And an adorable brown and white rabbit butt as well. Clearly, the rabbit is trying to get in the can to steal food. A person's arm is also in the photo, probably about to grab the rabbit out of the food bin.

We're doing a big pre-melt clean up to keep everyone dry... I pulled the half foot of hay from the hutches and Danny is SO ENTHUSED. He's still running laps for fun several hours later. He's gonna be very happy for his turn in the colony in a week or so.

Merry gave me 3 big, beautiful babies but her nest was very cold- needed more fur- so they were all frozen. 😥 She is still trying to fix her nest. I'll rebreed her to Nardole later today.

It has gotten bitter cold, gonna be in the negatives tomorrow. So I moved the bunny house water to the floor, bedded in hay. This will help it stay liquid longer. And I took the pallet the water is usually on and made a leanto. The bunnies think it's the funnest thing ever. 😍
