Piter is - ancient architecture, swarms of vehicles, workers in the streets, stray animals, roads like teeth - a city with necrotic lungs, a gravid facade of functionality, bitter and unyielding as the Neva that bisects it, the Baltic that cradles it. Hasetsu, Yuri finds, is an anthill of a town with nothing about it to like except, perhaps, that one family or another had enough wits about them to build and then maintain an ice rink, subpar as it is. It’s no wonder Katsuki left the soonest he could for - the States, contemptible Detroit, Michigan - and even more of an insult that he proceeded to seclude himself here, for all this time, wasting himself into even more of a pathetic slump - Sometimes - not always, but sometimes - Katsuki gets this look in his eyes. In stillness, in the quiet between conversation, over shifting hands by the low dining table, despite Viktor, because of Viktor - and it morphs his face entirely. Draws a fine line between his sculpted brows. Marks a path across his reddened lips.
