Very random thought on writing: how do y'all approach linearity of a story? I've mostly come to terms with the fact that I work best with a non-linear storyline: multiple concurrent time periods, a memory in the midst of an ongoing scene, etc. I figure others would have a diff approach.

I think the hardest part about writing such niche fic is just the absolute lack of visibility. Or at least, the lack of people willing to take a chance on it? I'm happy with what I put out but it's just real sad that doesn't quite reflect in the viewership of the fic

I'm not sure about others, but the amount of comments I receive has significantly decreased, so I strongly encourage all fic readers to leave as many comments as your heart sees fit. Hell, leave one (or more) on every chapter! I guarantee, no matter how old the fic is, the author will LOVE it.
I hate the "there should be kudos for each chapter!" debate so much. do you know how quickly that would be abused by people trying to game the system by racking up as many kudos as possible by posting microchapters? the number would become even more meaningless, plus is devalues shortfic.
