150 pages into Water Moon and i've decided to dnf. the characters and romance feel bland and there's nothing i'm looking forward to, so i finally convinced myself to put it down in favor of something more exciting

alllso i'm so lucky bc my siblings actually want to read my favorite books! i mean my sister and my younger sibling had totally different responses to summer sons and probably will to the space between worlds too but that's expected. the fact that they actually wanted to pick them up is so cool
one of my siblings asked for standalone queer recs i thought they'd like and the full list i came up with made me realize i do actually read books huh

why do i always start with an evil character for my first playthrough of an rpg and then struggle when i don't want to make choices allowing people to die/possibly locking me out of content. you'd think i would have learned by now...

just three books away from a full hardmode board now!

got my sibling to read Summer Sons and they're dming me like wow there's not a single likeable character in this book is there?

and i'm sitting here thinking wait were there characters (aside from the bad guys) i was supposed to dislike??

i'm not letting myself add books to my physical tbr in excess of the books i've read or unhauled and you'll be happy to know this has had the unintended consequence of buying primarily books that i've already read but don't own

i keep accidentally reading books that have a lot of hope in them. like i thought from reviews that Metal From Heaven was gonna be sorta gritty and depressing and it's not that it *wasn't* that but there's also so much community joy and collective action and a yearning utopia that's maybe

i don't think i have the means to actually explain it but i'm v impressed with the linguistics in Metal From Heaven and how it has naturally introduced a term that sort of maps to "queer" but not directly, instead feeling intrinsic and appropriate to that culture. quality worldbuilding

it's so funny how much i want to get a good grade in library i think things like "oh i want to request these three books but i'll spread them out so i'm not a bother" and "ik i have eight books checked out but i'll return three at the end of the week i promise" like bitch no one cares but you??
