I am not convinced that the king or parliament would have been convinced by other means, but fair enough. That said, in the modern era no one is outside of these regions. We all are present and viewing what tech is doing. And what they did worked to maintain their wages, for a while anyway

Imagine staring at the chubby water salamanders with a mane and having the nerve to feel anything other than joy. But also - their genomes are huge and their lampbrush chromosomes during mitosis are a pretty useful model system for genome organization.

I am not sure non academics are aware that _we pay the journals_ for the privilege of providing them all of the rights and contents of our research and that there is an upcharge for making things accessible.
