This email to federal workers and the X post saying failure to comply equals their resignation are examples of neither leadership nor management. They are deliberate instruments of fear to destabilize and break a federal workforce that: 1) we all rely on and 2) is already under enormous stress.

VATICAN CITY (RNS) — Vice President JD Vance used the old Catholic theology to defend the Trump administration's immigration policy. Pope Francis made clear that's not the church's interpretation.

It is difficult to imagine the rebuilding that will inevitably have to occur to restore lost capability across vital USG functions. Reacquiring the talent we all rely on will likely be more difficult and more expensive than anyone currently imagines.
I maxed out my credit card, emptied my savings account, and took out a loan to move from Alabama to Bethesda, MD. I don’t even qualify for unemployment since I’ve only worked at NIH for a month. I will be financially and medically devastated.

Seeking suggestions for anywhere that’s hiring!!
Today, along with 2,000 other NIH employees, I had to clear out my office 😭

It was truly the honor of my life to work with such incredibly passionate people focused on improving human health. I’ve never experienced a more positive culture where *everyone* cared about their job and serving others.

Much of that goes to state and local governments, private contractors and nonprofits. Just the portion paid in wages to Alaska’s federal employees adds up to $1.4 billion a year.
