The Beethoven cast is stacked. Bonnie Hunt, Oliver Pratt, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Heaton, and David Duchovny. If you told me that was the cast of the next True Detective season, i’d be in.

I think the reason The Pitt is hitting so hard right now is that all the main characters are genuinely trying to help people. Even in the chaos of the ER, it’s therapeutic to watch humans taking care of other humans.

Tech Winnnnns!!!!!

Texas Tech is playing in my state tonight, but they are at the wrong end. Can a Waymo take me from LA to San Fran?!

Chili John’s is closing. The reasons to stay in LA are getting fewer and fewer.

My whole life I was trained to not park near the cart return. There were commercials about it. I did it once recently out of necessity. Game changer!!! I can return my cart so easily!!!

I’m officially at the age where I can tell you what that building on the corner that’s now a Chic-Fil-A was as many as five business ago and have a working theory on why each of those failed.

I love me some daytime basketball. I’d watch a Senior Living Rec League if it was on at 10 am and the winner slaps their team name on a bracket after.

What happened to the Big Milk lobby? Do kids these days even know it does a body good?

If this year has taught me anything, it’s that I eat way less eggs than the average person.

I order my pizza like I’m a hungover frat boy, but if you call that same basic food a flatbread I’ll only pick toppings you can find on a forest floor.

It’s been a while since I’ve laughed aloud more than watching Grand Theft Hamlet. Some poignant moments as well, but the absurdity of GTA mixed with Shakespeare was endlessly entertaining. Loved it.

Loved a lot of Oscar movies, but here are some of my faves that weren’t mentioned once during the Oscars:

Good One
I Saw The TV Glow
Challengers
Super/man (doc)
Blitz (why did people hate this?)
Thelma
His Three Daughters
Rebel Ridge
Girls State

I’m hardwired for the comedy rule of three. So I would have had the Dune Sand Worm play off Adrian Brody.

A lien loses best live action short. Ridley Scott loses again.

June Squibb casually crushing jokes at 95 made my night. Thelma was low key one of the best movies of the year.

Let Coleman Domingo be the next Bond. Give us four movies of Bond boys named Hugh Bulge coming out of the surf in Speedos.

My four year old twins are having a heated debate about whether or not Mermaids have butts. Honestly, both are making great points.

Anybody make it through episode 8 of The Pitt without sobbing?
February 24, 2025 at 4:54 AM
My family has really been enjoying working our way through A24’s - “Hey kids - Watch This!” Book. I’m getting to see some cool stuff for the first time along with some great nostalgia watches.

The Pitt is fantastic. It’s intense, unrelenting, and anxiety inducing, so I’m sure it will win Best Comedy.
