I was just considering this the other day, when credit cards were only available to white men, the power of credit was with white men. When credit became available to women and people of color, systems were added to make it more difficult to access and punishing to not have access

ope, didn’t intend to accuse or offend. Trying to say, I think a lot of well meaning folks vote fiscally conservative, and I think it would benefit all to speak openly about his this is harmful and frame ballot items like the parks levy as voting for a shared social good

Yeah, I don’t know what’s ‘well-meaning’ about voting against parks. Ifyou’re voting against funding for public space and public services, I think that’s inherently self-serving and generally reflects feelings about public services more so than affordability of tax levies.
