Bookish mother of two, English teacher and tutor, always on the lookout for kindred spirits!

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world. -- L.M. Montgomery
I love teaching The Stranger. I taught it in IB Literature year 1 and in 10th honors with Macbeth, particularly exploring the theme of power/powerlessness.
After reading I Who Have Never Known Men, another text in translation, I wonder if it could better serve to replace or to supplement Camus. 💙📚🖋️

Something so lovely about a book, a spring morning, a cup of tea, and a giggling little boy 📚💙

I'm loving Storygraph, but sometimes I feel bad if I haven't finished a book by the end of the month. So, I thought I'd make my own March wrapped with the books I finished and the ones I'm still journeying through. 📚💙🖋️

One of the best books I've read in the last few years. Sam Masur is beautifully realized.

I was very young when I first read Rebecca (maybe 7th or 8th grade) and was so swept up in the mystery! I'd love that experience again! 📚💙🖋️

In case you didn't see, Floyd Co Georgia is reporting and, while the D candidate didn't win, neither did the most MAGA candidate. And, the Dem was very close to second place!!! Floyd Co. was at the center of some 2020 election conspiracy theories, so her getting close is pretty big.

Parents of #booksky: how do you help your kids become readers longer term? My 5 year old and I have "mommy daughter reading time" every non-school afternoon, but I'd love more ideas to support her love of reading! #parenting #lifelongreader 💙📚 #parentsofbooksky

I highly recommend Cher's audiobook! Since starting (I'm halfway through) I've had two dreams about her 😂. In one, she came to sing at my class reunion (I graduated in '09) and the other we drove around and chatted. I've loved Cher always and love her even more as I read/listen!

I saw Angelou in Rome GA in 8th grade. Later I found an autographed copy at a used book store!

I wrote about dust in Gatsby's house as a symbol, which I still love. I really appreciate little details, like the painting of The Swing by Fragonard at Myrle's apartment, which symbolizes excess, lack of morality, and a love triangle! You'll see the 3 figures, one of whom is looking up her skirt! 😲
