Bookish mother of two, English teacher and tutor, always on the lookout for kindred spirits!

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world. -- L.M. Montgomery
💙📚🖋️ I need some book club recommendations for fun fall reads! In the past we've read Happy Medium by Sarah Adler and The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman for spooky autumnal fun! 🍂🎃✨ #bookclub #bookrecommendations

I love teaching The Stranger. I taught it in IB Literature year 1 and in 10th honors with Macbeth, particularly exploring the theme of power/powerlessness.
After reading I Who Have Never Known Men, another text in translation, I wonder if it could better serve to replace or to supplement Camus. 💙📚🖋️

My slowest reading month, but some really good, timely, and thought provoking texts! #booksky

I finished Booklovers Library and was left feeling conflicted. I loved the first 2/3. I struggled with Olivia facing no repercussions. Am I too harsh? And I had mixed feelings about Mr. Sanderson's back story. It felt pointed in a post-COVID era. Am I reading too much into it?

💙📚 for those of us in #bookclub, what made your book club successful? If you ever left a book club, what could have helped you stay? I love being surrounded by a community of readers!
Background: I've run a book club out of my home for 2 years. Attendance is 5-10 monthly. We vote on books.

I'm loving Storygraph, but sometimes I feel bad if I haven't finished a book by the end of the month. So, I thought I'd make my own March wrapped with the books I finished and the ones I'm still journeying through. 📚💙🖋️

One of the best books I've read in the last few years. Sam Masur is beautifully realized.

I was very young when I first read Rebecca (maybe 7th or 8th grade) and was so swept up in the mystery! I'd love that experience again! 📚💙🖋️

Parents of #booksky: how do you help your kids become readers longer term? My 5 year old and I have "mommy daughter reading time" every non-school afternoon, but I'd love more ideas to support her love of reading! #parenting #lifelongreader 💙📚 #parentsofbooksky

Motherhood has completely changed my reading habits! I always finish the sentence, but can't be much more picky than that 😂 I used to always finish the chapter. Maybe one day I will again! #motherhood #parenthood

I highly recommend Cher's audiobook! Since starting (I'm halfway through) I've had two dreams about her 😂. In one, she came to sing at my class reunion (I graduated in '09) and the other we drove around and chatted. I've loved Cher always and love her even more as I read/listen!

I found an autographed copy of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings in the early 2000s at Unclaimed Baggage in Alabama! I didn't notice until I got home.
My husband found an antique Anne of Green Gables for $15. It was a first edition!!!
Has anyone else had amazing finds?

I am new to Maryland and have very little gardening experience, outside of an obsession with The Secret Garden 😂 what kinds of things should I plant and when this winter/early spring? Have I missed the boat already? 🌱
