1. I first got into astronomy when I was 12. I was fortunate enough to have parents who spotted the Space Shuttle Atlantis was due to launch while we were on vacation and we went to see it. I was sold there and then.

Here I was 11 years later, having started my PhD, visiting Atlantis in retirement.

Working on a space-based telescope from an office, it can be hard to appreciate all the infrastructure that’s required behind the scenes. Spending the day at the 76m wide Lovell Radio Telescope and Square Kilometre Array HQ last week helped contextualise just how big Astro projects are today! 🔭
