This is exactly my thought process. For over a decade people have been saying the Dems are playing checkers while the GOP is playing chess. If what’s happening now doesn’t put that on full display, I don’t know what does.

Can anyone explain Schumer’s logic? He stated a Gov shutdown would give Trump and Musk keys to the city. How? Isn’t making it easier to pass this horrid CR literally doing just that?!?

Kinda hard to do when it very much feels they’re abandoning us. How did we go from we have the votes to stop this to we are going to make it easier to for them to pass it? The only leverage that would force the GOP to come up with a reasonable CR & Schumer folded in 24 hrs.

Honestly curious what you think the reason was? Cause to this day I cannot understand why he chose Garland over anyone else.

This is self-serving behavior! They’re supposed to represent the will of the people! Selling us out in hopes the GOP shoots themselves in the foot and hoping to take control midterm is weak and selfish. Any Dem that voted yes in cloture is complicit. That’s giving them the keys to the city!
