The year: 1975. The rig: Altair 8800.

The surprise? It’s hiding more power than you'd expect.

We teamed up with Linus Tech Tips to build the ultimate sleeper PC for Microsoft’s 50th.

So it looks like Redis is open source again, but not before destroying any and all trust from its open-source community and users. I’m not against protecting competitive advantages through fair licenses like the Functional Source License (fsl.software).

The Functional Source License (FSL) is a source-available license that converts to Apache 2.0 or MIT after two years.

The only thing this executive order achieves is weakening national defence, not to mention the millions of dollars spent training the thousands of trans service members whose livelihoods are now on the line.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court granted the Trump admin’s request to enforce their ban on trans servicemembers in the military while our case with @lambdalegal.org is heard in court.

We believe this ban is unconstitutional & will be struck down. We will keep fighting for our brave servicemembers.

The US constitution makes no provision for the election of a King, in fact it goes out of its way to prevent it. It’s more important than ever to remember that.

The Right to Privacy requires access to safe and secure encryption.
Any law or regulation that requires back doors to encryption services undermines your right to privacy.

This is abuse of government power to harm consumers data privacy in the name of safety.

Data breach’s are a matter of when not if, this will lead to massive leak of customer data that could have been mitigated.

In general we build software without taking into account environmental consequences, beyond those driven by economic constraints.

This by definition is not sustainable. Maybe it’s time to consider the impact of our code.

The ban on trans people in bathrooms doesn't just apply to Sarah McBride, it also applies to staffers. There are multiple trans staffers in congress and this would essentially force them out. Many are not out to their colleagues either.

FUCK, why do people vote against their own interests, why do people believe the MAGA rhetoric. Trump doesn’t stand for anyone besides himself and his buddies.

In the final months of the election, Republicans spent $215 Million on network TV ads, plus god knows how much on cable, streaming, mailers, etc. Attacking our community was without a doubt their #1 ad priority.

Today, the American people get the opportunity to rebuke that hate.

Twitter on election day is not a fun place, although it’s not been a fun place for a long while.
November 5, 2024 at 4:35 PM
So it’s November 5th, Guy Fawkes day in the UK, a day where historically we celebrated the spoiling a terrorist attack against parliament and the monarchy, and it’s election day in the US for an historic election that could change the vary course of US history and it’s democracy.
