During the lapse in government appropriations, services will not be interrupted at NAS Pax River MWR and FFSC facilities. This includes the Drill Hall, golf course, Center Stage Theater, Auto Hobby, NRC Solomons, childcare facilities, unaccompanied housing, NEX food services, and commissary.

Annually in September, Navy Installations across the fleet host Bells Across America for Fallen Service Members. At Pax River and installations throughout the fleet, shipmates and Gold Star families joined together to honor those lost in service.
