April 10, 1984: Bobby Allison, the defending Cup champion, hooked a trailer to the back of an ARCA car and drove that thing around Talladega at 164.338 mph, setting a new record for a trailer. He only made a few laps before a trailer tire blew out.

Outside of the Indy 500, only six IndyCar races since then have surpassed the 2013 Pocono 400's large viewership (1.3 million)
