Knowing this, he would reject being in control of everything knowing that to truly control all means having to deal with each minute detail that he could never remaster, because there never existed a universe in the first place that was truly fully malleable. A coin flip still only has two sides.

The last thing that Apollo would learn is that controlling everything means that everything is predictable, and that would cause him to go mad with the knowledge that he is not living, but simply controlling. There are no more decisions to be made. He must stick with the hand he was dealt.

Eventually, it became an understanding of who the gods were, and what system was causing them to be like this. Of course, everything would focus on Apollo's plan to usurp the gods and how he planned on fixing the universe himself, being the god of insight as well.

Eventually, I became interested in the gods themselves. What type of personalities would they need to be "right" all of the time? If a god dissents, how are they dealt with? Immortality came into place immediately as a reason for them to cooperate.

The hero had to strike down gods on the way to becoming one himself, but each time he lost himself to the pride of striking someone down that was bigger than him.

In the end, he would make the same mistake as the gods themselves and believe he should choose how the gods behave.

The main hero would ascend to godhood, but have been so corrupted to get there their faithful companion strikes them down before they reach apotheosis.

This naturally must have been orchestrated by the god Apollo, as he prophesied oh so long ago as the god of prophecies himself.

My first writings on the topic were blandly straightforward.

There are mortal heroes that try to challenge the gods and get run down. They fight until they get lucky strike in, and the gods granted them mercy for standing up to them.

And I thought to myself that these individuals must constantly be stressed. They must make decisions on a whim. If they knew what had to be done they had no time to explain why it was or wasn't correct, just that it was.
The more I thought about it, the more it made me think of Greek heroism.

So I imagined beings that were immortal and had control over everything. They knew their decisions were correct, and that they were more powerful, and the people who followed them paid the toll for any decisions they made that ran foul.

It led to a long time of thinking about what it truly means to live a life fulfilled. When my personal success turned to apathy, my goals turned to grinding routine, and my ambition to intensively stressful situations I wondered what it would be like to have "everything"

In this world someone would become immensely powerful with this technology... but what does it mean to be that powerful? What is gained from knowing everything that could possibly happen?

You could "want" something, but after exposing yourself over and over to it again you would lose interest.
