For The Underworld, and the series as a whole, I wanted to explore immortality and the Many Worlds theory.

The Many Worlds theory and if it was possible to explore a route untaken would pose a risk to those holding power... so naturally, the first person to find it would lord it over others 🧵

They say never work for free.

In this day and age, time and money are precious. Attention spans are short. People feel the need to monetize everything.

I thought by making content it would be the same for me. But I can't meet what the market wants. My book is free.

"The Underworld" is live!

A weird fiction novel that blends a dark retelling of Greek mythology with cosmic horror.

Currently hosted on an unfortunate site, definitely taking recommendations from blue sky for more friendly book marketplaces.

@deadbydaylight.com hey DBD, one of my quests refuses to progress (be chased for 200 seconds as survivor).

Is there anywhere I can get help for this bug?

I finished "The Underworld", my newest version of the first book of my Alpha and Omega series!

I'll be asking some close friends and family to give their opinions before I put it up on an online marketplace.

Get ready for deep and complex characters fighting for their universe's survival!

Got some time to relax and re-energize and start to focus on projects again.

Hades: planning on extending sections that were short and with little context, hopefully making them more emotional and impactful

Spelling Bee: anticipating adding rogue-like elements to the game!

Played Perch last week and was super happy with the choices in that game - every action taken felt meaningful.

Feeling less confident in posting about games I was iffy on only because I don't actually dislike them - I just have a huge board game collection and need to justify letting some go...

Played Mystery of the Abbey and came out of it feeling okay, but not a keeper.

Lots of ideas were interesting and I'd love to expand on the mechanic of keeping opponents to their word in logical deduction, but found that the game provided too little structure for what it promised.

I have an interesting update on Lose Your Marbles - going to allow players to mulligan marbles for a specific low-tier one.

Going to see if that freedom helps people become more attached to their starting selection.

Sp ll ng B was fun! Needs a little more spice to really be high quality.

Lose your marbles is good, but players are hoping to put more expression in their pull of marbles from the bag. It seems like they want more choices.

Finished a game of Veiled Fate too! Interesting interactions to see.

"Burned" had a narrative thread that was hard to follow.

Now, in "The Underworld", that thread shows the pain and suffering of Hades, Eldest of Cronus.

It's easy to relate to someone that is struggling, but does Hades deserve redemption?

Rewrote the rules for The Filibuster - how about "Sp ll ng B"!

The vowels are missing to the spelling bee and you need to work together to make words with the remaining consonants!

Playtest with friends to come.

Protocol theory isn't there yet - I need to be able to describe it in simple terms.

A new approach might be making an interactive game where people can look into each discipline and work from there.

Something in board game design I've noticed - balance and meeting players' expectations are equally important, but balance must not get in the way of meeting expectations.

In The Filibuster, players wanted to create cool words despite the limitations of the game - the revamp will fix this.

Wanted to document this somewhere - my path to developing Protocol Theory:

Evidence and Logic ➡️ Game Theory ➡️ Bayesian Probability ➡️ Econometrics ➡️ Algorithms ➡️ AI ➡️ UI/UX ➡️ Neuroscience ➡️ Theory

Been working on some projects to go public:

Complete revamp of my book Burned on Hades, God of the underworld

"Lose your marbles", a board game about... well... you can guess

Unnamed board game that is a revamp of the word making game I started with a good friend of mine called "The Filibuster"
