Accidents have been known to happen 🤷‍♀️

(Though, to be fair, it's considered extremely dishonourable to kill an opponent in the games. Your allies had better *believe* it was an accident.)

This is an interesting read after years of seeing Historic Scotland sites closed off due to the mere possibility of crumbling masonry. And these people are happy - heck, ALLOWED? - to *work inside* the unsafe historical building? How does that work? 🤨

There were a lot of those in Rome, if memory serves!

The lake is ringed by richly carved standing stones built by an ancient people. Today, the lakeshore is the site of the solstice games - a warrior festival not unlike the ancient Olympics, when wars are suspended and warriors show off their skill in (theoretically) friendly contests. 2/2

The world at large is mostly unaware it even exists, but to Islanders, the sacred lake at Oldien is a big deal. It's a recent enough impact crater to be almost perfectly round, which has made it special to every society that has ever lived in the area. 1/
Welcome to our third week, #NovemberWorldbuilders! This time we're talking about important RIVERS or LAKES in our world! But, tbh, any sufficiently important body of water will do. Also, don't feel obliged to answer; sometimes I cover niche topics that aren't for everyone!

Secular music is based on percussion (and epic rap battles, I guess). Of course, that's for the plebs. The rich are not above hiring foreign musicians to play very not-religious music for them because if you're not the one making the melody, the gods surely won't smite you, right?

Both real Earth societies and mine are so varied that it's hard to talk in generalities!

Maybe the most unearthly hangup one of my societies has is a religious prohibition against music with a melody, except in praise of the gods. 1/

We can always point and laugh, though

If they have a spare 200 bucks to spend on looking like a jackass, who are we to stop them? 🤷‍♀️

Even the Whitecloaks. We don't like them, but they're still people.

Still useful, but good to know the limits!

Ha. Now I'm curious what the less accessible options were!

This is fascinating and hilarious but jeez, that site looks dodgy AF

What did you put in that mac and cheese to make you see stars? 🤣

Is that a general purpose bot, or does it only read text from images?

Sorry not sorry 🤣

Fire is the Mother of passions; on the virtue front, she represents courage. Light is wisdom and justice. She's the one judges invoke and priests ask for a glimpse of the future. Shadow represents honour, and oh *boy*, are these people obsessed with honour! 5/5

Earth is associated with stability, steadfastness and building/making. Wind's chief virtue is loyalty (though she can also have an aspect of seeking knowledge, which nobles often conveniently ignore). Water is merciful, and also tenacious - she can wash away solid rock, given enough time. 4/
