This is very far from my personal experience. Science IS a creative endeavor. It requires a very specific set of technical skills (as other creative professions), but the main activity of a scientist (especially after becoming a PI) is mostly creative work, and having an artistic background helps.

Creo que puede haber cambios importantes según el área, pero creo que aproximaciones multi-parámetro en el que la posición de autoría sea uno de ellos tienen sentido. Un poco la idea de cómo se supone que evalúa ahora las convocatorias el ISCIII (pero sin entrar a defender exactamente cómo lo hacen)

I have been on the receiving end of similar emails and I was not very happy about it… but on the other hand, I’ve had a paper “under review” for 4 months and I have not received the first round of comments or first decision yet… so some kind of compromise need to be reached.

I have already read Babel twice (and I will surely do so again and again) and I recommend it to everyone. I have read her other books, but this is my favorite.
The story and worldbuilding are extraordinary. Such a wonderful (though heartbreaking) thing R. F. Kuang managed to bring into this world.
