In Nova Scotia we get to blame them because a lot of our storms come up the coast lol.

And sometimes it’s wildly unpredictable. You can have a terrible day for no reason. Or even the occasional good one. It makes planning for anything ridiculously difficult. You just have to do all the things and hope for the best.

Not to mention that many DID have disability insurance only to find out that the companies that run them are bent on kicking as many people off as possible.

Unless you have a clear cut VISIBLE disability, good luck with that.

LTD is not guaranteed.

A surgeon once told me that surgery is controlled trauma. I had never thought about it that way but it makes perfect sense. Your body doesn’t care. It will react to surgery the same way it does any trauma.

The toughest thing about this whole time line is not being able to trust anyone. Except my spouse. Thankfully.

I do get it. But she’s not careful AT ALL so I just can’t unmask around her. Her hearings are ok but don’t work as well as they should. I tried looking for clear masks but none of them were what I needed.

My mom (who, to be fair, is very deaf) always says she can’t hear me because of my mask. Then we started video calling and she still can’t hear me. Guess it wasn’t the mask after all! 🤷‍♀️

I masked at my Mom’s wedding last month and not one person said anything to me. But they were thinking hard about it! (Average age was 80 — everyone should have been masking.)

Happy to hear! Even my mammogram tech wanted me to take mi mask off. Like what? Unless you need to see in my mouth or nose, it’s staying right where it is.

It’s so annoying.
November 28, 2025 at 1:10 PM
The only ones who ever do it to me are in healthcare. Usually to tell me it’s safe to take it off. Ha! No thanks.

Need to flip the script. Ask him how he’d like it we went around calling Washington the 11th province.

Trying to figure out where the changes will land and how to adjust to them is the WORST. No amount of “positive thinking” is going to help. I know you’ll figure it out and you’ll deal. Once that’s happened, then you can process what’s happened.

Yes on all counts. And said load of laundry took me all day and I had help for parts of it. At the time, I couldn’t use my left hand either.
November 26, 2025 at 10:54 AM
How about “if you can do a load of laundry, why can’t you work?” From a disability agent, no less.
November 26, 2025 at 10:49 AM
Unfortunately true. I hope the adjustment isn’t too horrible.
November 24, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Any idea if it’s temporary or something you’ll have to deal with permanently?

If anything, it’s the other way around. They insist on calling 25 year old men boys and insisting they don’t know any better when they do terrible things.

Even Sweden says they shouldn’t have done it like Sweden.

They used the fire hydrant example. Which is hilarious. Cities mandate how far apart they can be. Rural citizens rarely have them. It wasn’t a personal decision to buy/build a house near one. It was circumstance. Luck.
