To the extent you feel people can still be reached with ideas, we wrote the pro-immigration, pre free movement case in a handy comic book form, available free at your local library: openlibrary.org/books/OL2824...

I have nothing profound to share, I’m just enjoying my first evening out on the back patio with calling birds and the scent of flowers. My sapling oaks have leafed out, the deer are picking their way along through the brush, and I’m hoping we get rain tonight.

Fishing at Santa Cruz Lake today was ideal. So many fishies came today hi to the flies I’d tied for them!

With hovering grey clouds this morning and the continuing evil news from Washington, sleeping in seems like a good option. Mr. Bean agrees.

I’m mystified. Musk, who once shot a Tesla convertible into orbit, is in charge of ensuring that gov’t agencies spend their money in “a sensible and frugal manner.” I know, it’s just one of the many insanities, but there we are.

DOGE is reportedly threatening NOAA with massive staff and budget cuts.

NOAA houses the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center, which produce forecasts and warn people about storms.

This attack on public safety is ripped straight from the pages of Project 2025.

This ridiculous pile of animals complicates my relaxation after a complicated day. But they are warm and sweet.

Fished with friends on the Chama yesterday, the weather was frighteningly lovely. February, why are you 65 and sunny? We need snowpack, deep slow rains, all the moisture we can get! (But being in theater with a fly rod is always heavenly.)

A few northern NM Lady Anglers made it out last night to the fly tying meet-up at CHOMP Santa Fe for pizza, beer and fishing tales.

Hello, BlueSky peeps. This morning I'm heading off to pick up Mom's ashes and her death certificate. It's hard/not hard, as it was time for her to go (90 years is a fabulous run, after all) but we're never ready. Never. The only one left from this picture is the little doggo, Mr. Bean. We love him.
