Today’s the launch of @tvotoday.bsky.social (MIS)Treated, a podcast on women’s health. Thank you for the support & messages🙏❤️. About 7% of Canada’s federal spending goes to women’s health & women weren’t included in clinical trials until 1993 in USA and 1997 in Canada m.youtube.com/watch?v=0Oco...

A woman in Canada waited 11 years for a gynaecological diagnosis!! Women’s health is under funded and under researched. In Sept, I’ll be hosting a podcast on women’s health and how we got here. I hope you can listen to (MIS)Treated on TVO.

Took my kids & niece to Caribana. It’s the first time I’ve been in awhile as I’ve been dealing with health problems the last few years. Toronto has become a hard city to live but Caribana’s a reminder of what makes it so unique & special. Grateful to live in a city that celebrates multiculturalism.

Women in Canada have had to travel abroad because the wait times are long & some procedures are not available here. A woman in NS spent $50k USD. Why aren’t we talking about this? I’m working on a new project for TVO on women’s health. If you have a story you’d like to share, email nkiwanuka@tvo.org

In a recent TED Talk, @yoshuabengio.bsky.social
a Canadian researcher who has been called a “godfather” of AI, says “a sandwich has more regulation than AI.” I wrote about why with the excitement of AI we need to listen & enact the lessons we’ve learned from social media @tvotoday.bsky.social

Life is lifing right now. I took a long walk after work today. On any day, the Scarborough Bluffs are so beautiful but today I saw a Heron in person for the first time and I was mesmerized. How lucky are we that this is in Ontario? 😍 Listen to all of those beautiful sounds🥰

Thank you CP24 Breakfast for the interest #TVOTheThread. Tonight’s ep we speak to a group of teen girls from Toronto, whose images were manipulated into non-consensual images by a classmate. Why can’t the law keep up with technology & what are the impacts of deepfakes? @tvotoday.bsky.social 730pm

If immigrants leave, what does Canada gain and what does it lose? We spoke to Daniel Bernhard from the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, who told us that Canadians could lose out on more of what Canadians need. #TVOTheThread
