There isn’t much I can add to the news of the tragic passing of Rob Reiner except to say that it is shocking and incredibly sad. Reiner represents a truly meaningful figure, not only in Hollywood, but in my formative taste and interest in movies.

I am genuinely terrified about the future of Hollywood and the theatrical experience with Netflix’s recent acquisition of Warner Bros. All I can say is I hope the appeal by James Cameron, Spielberg, and Nolan is successful.

I’m extremely disappointed that Greig Fraser won’t be returning as cinematographer for The Batman Part II. However, I trust Matt Reeves. His direction plays a massive role in how the movie is shot, and Erik Messerschmidt’s pedigree with David Fincher gives me a lot of confidence.
