"The law bars Trump [..]"

"...it could land him in jail."

Oh honey, sweetie, I'm so sorry, I've got some *terrible* news for you...

We got the first real snow of the weekend; we got maybe 5-7" on Sunday. Meanwhile, Bangor got essentially nothing. We're not that far north of Bangor really, but I guess it was enough.

That option doesn't exist for me.

Cat is *VERY* pleased that the box of toys has been located, and opened.

I will now be finding toys in every odd nook and cranny until forever.

A disingenuous claim. Caesar is not saying that slavery was *immoral* or *evil*; he was saying that the Gaelic people didn't want to be enslaved. Not wanting <thing> does not mean that <thing> is inherently immoral/evil.

Look, you know that this is legally false, otherwise you wouldn't be posting it. Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, 118 U.S. 394 (1886). It said that the 14A protections extend to corporation, which *does* include 1A rights.

This is what I get when I follow the link. Both desktop and mobile. I can try a different browser, but IDK.

Be chill about it.

I'm amazed at how self-serving this shit is. Harris was worried about a perception of anti-semitism, rather than the reality of genocide. I say "perception" because Zionists were seeing protests against Israel as threats against them, *personally*, rather than against, y'know, *genocide*.

(This is a joke.)

This is not correct.

Mormons *in general* do not do this. Usually kids get kicked out for being gay, trans, masturbating, looking at porn, or some other 'sin'.

This is more typical of fundamentalist polygamist Mormon cults, e.g., FLDS church/Warren Jeffs.

Since I'm sure I'm going to be blocked for pointing that out, here's a screenshot of the original post.

Well, yes, but also no.

School shootings have been happening since at least the 1800s, but were quite rare until Columbine. And it is true that in very rural areas kids *did* used to bring guns to school, but they left them in the rack in their pickup.

Culture has changed sharply since Columbine.

Fuck it. They're going to do it anyways. They don't need an excuse, because they're already doing the thing.

This is the lib version of the cop shouting, "STOP RESISTING" while they repeatedly hit you with a baton.

E.g., asylum seekers should be independently wealthy.

The ugly truth is that emigrating to another country *does* require you to prove financial independence--which is why I haven't emigrated to Finland --but asylum is supposed to be a different process entirely.

@alyssaharad.bsky.social I get out. But if you won't fight, you lose. Newsom is *not* the person that should be leading this fight; he'll cynically sacrifice any principle or ideal.

I feel dirty having to make pragmatic choices; it shouldn't be Newsom v. MAGAHitler.

There's always a reason that people end friendships. Often they've been telling you for *years* what's going on. You also see this with estranged parents; they say it came out of the blue, instead of years of violating boundaries.
