Democratic free discussion requires people to listen. Instead of that we now have politically aligned factions who detest each other. This results in Governments for one minority or the other. Not a democracy where all voices are heard.

That feeling of being so lucky in the casino of life as the hole you dig gets deeper is profoundly linked to the level of self-deception.
