There are kids who legitimately need acceleration and I hope we don’t sacrifice them because “gifted” now means “Mommy’s Most Special Boy” and not “this kid literally finished all the work for the year… now what do I do with them?”

I get that you are talking about “gifted programs” which, sure, are likely bullshit, but my elementary school vice-principal walked me across the street to the middle school every day to take math.
