seeing all these interactions i put together functioning all at the same time is just so cool to me

- local avatar mirror in wasm
- aiming held pickups while mouse unlocked (was mod)

actually probably the coolest part is that functionality is all built into a content cloning system i made

i have the ability to make as many clones of avatars/props i want and place them wherever i want

i made this so i can try exposing it to wasm for portals and other neat world gimmicks

harvested bits of several mods i’ve made in the past to make held/attached objects show as if they are part of you in cameras :D

i've been too busy to make new cool stuff so i guess i can show off the "hidden" functionality of CCK4s build pipeline :)

been thinking about how to extend Test Mode for AASEmulator to be able to hook too #chilloutvr

really wish i could just take a few weeks off work to get things done...

i have never used the index since and any future desire for a basestation tracked HMD demolished

reprojection taking into account position is absolutely fucked and i don’t understand how that’s acceptable- everything distant is so squishy and nauseating when i physically move at low FPS
This was added base-game in a recent Nightly. The client also no longer ships the fat shaders used for legacy world shader replacement.

I’ve spent a good chunk of time dissecting these older worlds & fixing/mitigating issues with them. Just purchased an Index HMD to verify one more :)))

I love the ChilloutVR account, because every time i touch it i’m yelled by Luc & Kafe to not do anything crazy with it lmao.

Its guid is “SYSTEM” which is obviously not valid- so the concern is that the ChilloutVR account can break anything expecting an actual GUID.
We recently dusted off an old incomplete feature, fixed, and finished it, when touching the GS in our dev environment.

Dynamic Plates allows the server to set and change nameplate rank info and color instead of it being hardcoded in the client.

We immediately started seeing what it could do lol.

I started catching up on steam reviews and of all of them

“this game is not a passionate dev project, you don't see devs in lobbys anymore, you barely barely see moderators which is a huge problem and as i hear the moderation is really bad and biased.”

is the one that got under my skin the most.

The CCK Preview including this change has been released in the Nightly channel. There’s also a preview now in the build panel of your taken panoramic.

I wish to expose more configuration for the taken panos at a later date, like the depth capture mode, or using an image captured in-client.
We did a cool recently with portals so they can reconstruct depth. Will be part of an upcoming CCK… that i’ve totally not been slacking on…

Hit several major roadblocks & was demotivated for a bit, but I am slowly picking that back up.

Finally got the big 2 blockers out of the way :)

while working on the new #chilloutvr cck i used flooded grounds as a “big project” to test against

got sidetracked & faithfully recreated the post processing from v1 to v2, fixed shaders for spi, added swimming & underwater fx, and added footstep sounds with a simple lua script

experienced spych boat for the first time using a mod to manually render both eyes in non-spi (shader replaced) legacy worlds #chilloutvr

the perf hit is non-negligible, obviously, but it is worth the price to explore all of this older content i’ve never had the chance to see

made a #chilloutvr mod to automatically find & setup rigged RCC steering wheels so they can be physically grabbed for steering input
