I blame Zote for anything like that.

Well, that and it’s not just luck, it’s also your involvement with others that helps

No one’s ever a popular author in a vaccuum, sometimes it’s working with certain people, sometimes it’s hitting the right community, sometimes it’s being an industry plant like JK Rowling

To be fair the average popular author was the 30-year-old failed author at some point unless they just got lucky

I think there’s a lot of interesting stuff in the original Traveller setting, but it’s kind of a blank slate setting in the first place, so you have to either dig deep, or do some work yourself to make something fun.

Either way, happy to see more people get interested in Traveller as a whole!

Seth Skorkowsky did a really solid overview on one of the three current editions of Traveller if the system ever interests you.

Having casually hung out in circles around western VNs (ie. Scarlet Hollow), even if the communities are insular, there's still those folks who go out of their way to look for different stuff

It's just harder to see because those folks prefer to play the games than obsess about it on social media

There's a lot of overlap when you're willing to go out of your way to be surprised (in good and bad)

Not sure what I'm going to do with the projects I worked on that are on Itch tbh.
Even with alternatives, this still makes me feel like shit.
