The only issue for me is power level.
This is the main reason why i didn't seriously consider it for my own fantasy setting - the kinds of powers PCs and monsters have from the earliest levels simply clash too heavily with the vibe of that world.

Also since these policies won't actually solve any legitimate sources of discontent like wealth inequality, nothing politicians do in regards to immigration will ever be enough for these people.

I'm neither happy about it, nor do i feel particularly sorry for him.
It's hard not to draw a direct line from him and others normalizing violent rhetoric and actively sewing hatred and division to this event.
He didn't deserve it, but he played his part in causing this and future acts of violence.
