Afraid i'm not an artist myself, just working together with one.
I've built an extensive Bronze Age world, but now i'm branching out with a far future spin-off. Gathering inspo atm, Moebius, @skyhornet, @calumalexanderwatt, GitS, and construction methods like Hyperadobe and Mycelium molding.

Highly misleading, because this suggests that half of the surface is the Pacific Ocean.
It's not; this picture shows significantly less than half of the surface.

Why do people keep posting this misleading image over and over again...
Yes this is what you can see from fairly low orbit where your cone if vision maybe covers 1/3rd of the surface. But it's not the case that one half of the planet is covered in water.

"She must have watched as he was felled
Watched, as my loved one lay and bled
and still writhed there, long after those
who took my husband from me fled."

Tawawocci (Pain Witches) are benign spirits that enjoy observing suffering.

“Only those who wander the desert at night, with eyes that have not yet unlearned to dream, may look beyond those distant lights, and glimpse the true beauty and terror of the universe.”

Side effect of sinking hundreds of hours over the course of 4 years into this map:
The level of detail is ridiculously inconsistent :D

I love worldbuilding while drawing on my map; watching stories and cultures emerge as i detail coastlines and mountains. Using a 1px pencil might sound tedious to others, but it is my personal zen garden.

The Serpents, once incorruptible servants of the gods, now are always at the doorstep of corruption, thanks to their noble sacrifice.
And none are closer to madness than those who serve Metides, the mad thousand-armed half-drowned goddess that holds the ocean floor together.
And some go rogue...

The Strange Folk

Their souls are as complex as entire communities, and they can read the soul of others by looking into their eyes.
And since the eye reflects the soul, their own eyes are the most beautiful ones in the world!

The goddess Vurëshal

In an attempt to mend the bond between her kin and the mortals of the East she tried to split her empathic and apathetic aspects into two distinct halves.
A laudable dream - with apocalyptic consequences.

Harpies!
Goofy, savage, and 100% birdbrains!

They love gaudy jewelry, pottery (they are to clumsy to make them), and most importantly: RUGS!
