Sometimes people can't find agreement and that's alright. Giving up on dialogue when there isn't agreement yet still civility and dialogue to be had is just frustration at not being able to push an agenda. This whole platform is all agenda, anger and violence. I appreciate your civility though.

Our common ground is being human. The idea that someone must be receptive to other people ideals isn't the same as common civility. I don't open dialogue based on "How much can I convince this person of X". Bluesky is a bastion of encouraging violence and even murder at this point. Allah help you.

Then you've echo-chambered your Bluesky feed. Because I've been surrounded by it and I follow books,video games and basic news accounts. Of all the socials I deal with Bluesky is the most violent and echo chambered, stagnant and vile. Twitter makes fun of my niqab, Bluesky gives me death threats.

It takes a level of civility and humanity to be able to have that balance in a society. The west obviously doesn't have it. Bluesky is a perfect example - I've never seen so many people openly celebrate an assasination in my life nor have I gotten so many death threats in my messages before.

And sometimes people need a gun because it's the only recourse to their personal safety. It's better to explain how things happened and hand over a gun to authorities after pulling the trigger than being the one dead. I know whereof I speak.

Habiti, that's my neighborhood right now except also white and Puerto Rican. Except one thing - many of us are gun owners. Know what we don't do? Glorify violence, consider politics a reason to shoot people over,make gun safety less than priority. it's not a gun issue - it's a people issue.

The vast majority of legal gun owners are fine with tighter safety and regulation. One of the biggest obstacles to getting there is legislation proposed that will take away the 2A all together or neuter it to a point that ownership would be almost impossible. As a Muslim woman I want my protection.
