Eccentric spinster, bookstore worker, Toronto, she/her
Toronto #nokings! From a show of hands, lots of US expats alongside fed-up Canadians. One (1) counterprotester, at a distance, rambling incoherently about seed oils and Jesus through a loudspeaker. Solid turnout, beautiful weather, very peaceful dance-party vibe

So this happened: I tried to search for images of Geary Ave on Instagram, and not only does their search no longer really work (that's been the case for awhile), this time, the AI muscled in and, unprompted, tried to sell me cryptocurrency!?! I hate it so much

I love this jungle at Clint Roenisch Gallery. He was there when I visited, and he said the banana tree bore fruit once, but it never ripened. There are tiny green figs on the fig tree right now

I grabbed a coffee and the barista handed me a tiny rose he had just made out of a paper napkin (it was a slow moment, early afternoon), and then the cup itself exactly matched the tulips just outside, look how aesthetically pleasing this is (also the coffee was excellent)

Walking to work this morning, I saw this goose strolling directly towards me. I thought he would wander off the sidewalk or take flight, but...(1/3)

First book I've loved this year -- spare, poetic, ambiguous, but also immersive and emotionally engaging

I was working alone in the bookstore yesterday, and a pair of earnest young men came in and handed me a flyer, and when I looked at it, it took a huge effort not to burst out laughing. Toronto sighting of Hot Jesus!

Saw a @martinreis.bsky.social piece in its natural habitat -- Grace St. -- today! With what looked like a small augmentation by some other artist who'd passed by

Seeing reports that the aurora borealis is visible in some parts of the GTA, so I walked over to King's College Circle to see if I could see it. Verdict: nope, but it's a nice night for a walk. #toronto
