the way of kings
Brandon Sanderson

the way of kings is part of the storm light archive series. 5 main books out now + 2 novellas, each book over 1000 pages long iirc. incredibly compelling setting and characters, interesting and grounded magic system, and many epic moments throughout.

that sounds really frustrating, i'm sorry.

this typically is what leads to frustrating play, bc tiny corners of the hurtbox might visually extend past the edges of the players sprite/model, leading to "how did that hit me!?" moments. i think.

there's also the player hitbox for platforming purposes, and in some games the player hitbox and hurtbox are the same
October 3, 2025 at 2:57 AM
hurtbox is for taking damage, attack hitboxes are for dealing damage. typically an enemy attack or spike hitbox is tested if it overlaps with the player hurtbox, and vice versa for player attacks and enemy hurtboxes. (1/2)

2022 JWST observation of the Pillars of Creation within the Eagle Nebula. Thinking of switching it up to a different JWST image though.

Potential solution: use books you've already read and don't plan to read again in a while. Or simply don't plan to read at all but haven't gotten rid of yet

Involves topics like Measure theory, probability theory, geometric optics, and using monte carlo methods for estimating high dimensional integrals.
