I did this a while back. Surprisingly, getting a wireless trackpad was the thing that then really got me into touch typing, because it broke my habit of leaning over to do gestures on the laptop

Always wanted a framed version of this Masereel piece, but aside from the tiny book it's in (Die Stadt), have never seen a print edition. Going though backups last week, found a 93MB .tif I must have acquired or scanned in the 00's. Absolutely no memory of how or where from 🤔

we only add the 25% cement out of superstition, really

(seriously tho: mechanically stabilised earth means you're kinda right, in that sand/soil/etc. are useful for a bunch of composites. e.g. this sort of infra is often full of soil with geotextile layers to stop it flowing)

Richard Skemp's work is one of the most interesting finds I've made in years. Studying intelligence left him completely uninterested in measuring it. He seemed to see IQ testing as irrelevant and counter-productive to education

ok that's interesting! I learned recently that Amazon UK send a lot less to landfill, thanks to [waste management company] whose logo was blurred out in reports, since they were approached by journalists and said "yeah we're trying to get them to fix this". And they did!

Enjoyable. Bike maintenance rules of thumb I've found to be true and that you might enjoy:
Owning and depending on one bike: 0 problematic bicycles, most of the time.
Owning multiple bikes: you have n or n-1 problematic bicycles at any given moment.
