Why was @petroc.bsky.social not hosting the Cardiff Singer of the World gala? Such an important part of the competition. Still upset at no 2025 competition, and the gala, while lovely, did not really reflect the spirit of the event. Let's hope that the RAAC in St Davids Hall is sorted out by 2027.

"15 years ago, Polish workers came here to find opportunity. Now Poland is growing twice as fast as we are," says Kemi Badenoch.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?

@damianbarr.bsky.social Just heard that you will not be coming to Crickhowell on Monday. Was looking forward to reacquainting myself with The Two Roberts. Hope all is well. X

Barry Gardiner and Arlene Foster on #bbcnewsnight - I genuinely don't think there are two people I would less rather listen to commentating on today's politics.

One would think that the "esteemed" London Standard would have known that Piccadilly Circus hasn't been a roundabout for more than a decade. www.standard.co.uk/news/london/...
Two injures after car smashes into Piccadilly Circus roundabout
All roads leading to Piccadilly Circus have been closed and the nearby Tube station has been partially shut

I loved these books - so evocative of a London that feels so far away now - and at 99p each they're a steal.
If this lyrical waxing isn't enough to convince you, all three of my Tommy Wildebood thrillers are currently JUST 99P EACH on Kindle as part of Amazon's Pride Month Promotion.

Devoured in a day the third Tommy Wildeblood novel "The Inalienable Right" by @adammacqueen.bsky.social - pitch perfect evocation of a miserable time for many LGBT people. Best line: "Alastair Campbell? Never heard of him". Start with "Beneath the Streets" if you haven't started - and enjoy.

At this point Deepseek is just making wild guesses of educational establishments - anyone using this tool without fact-checking is crazy. In this case, they could just check the LinkedIn profile...

Car broken into so that the parcel shelf could be stolen. Apparently it's a thing now - neighbour has had their car broken into twice and the shelf stolen. What's the point? Is there such a second-hand market in London for parcel shelves?

We may be the only people in the city of Salzburg this Boxing Day listening to a podcast about Corby bus station by @grindrod.bsky.social and Mike Althorpe, the London Ambler.

What great discussions between @thangamdebbonaire.bsky.social and Andrew Mitchell on @sophyridge.bsky.social on Sky tonight. Intelligent, knowledgeable and respectful. A real masterclass in grown-up politics.

Sitting in Wales enjoying the positively balmy 6C today after a freezing snowy few days awaiting the arrival of Bert tomorrow. Just as well I didn't move here for the weather.

Why is it that whenever I am waiting for @kermodeandmayo.bsky.social to drop before going out so that I can listen to it, it arrives late?

I am sad for all the women assaulted and exploited by Mohammed Al-Fayed but the news that he might not have been a nice guy is about the least surprising news today. I hope the publicity today gives them some closure.
