The USA did such a good job warning Americans about communism that we can’t even get basic social services; meanwhile, they did such a poor job warning Americans away from dictatorship that they’d rather embrace a dictator than provide social services or tax the wealthy.

🏛️ This is even more unacceptable and shameful: USAID's Memorial Wall - honoring 99 personnel who died serving our nation abroad - was just taken down. These public servants gave their lives. Their memory deserves better than erasure.

The Constitution won’t atop anyone from doing unconstitutional things. People have to act. Institutions don’t prevent anything. People do. Those in a position to act must act. Those without obvious recourse to power have a phone and their elected officials’ contact information. Do something!

When listening to political rhetoric, ask who they want you to fear and who they want you to blame. Christian should be so transformed by the Spirit that we become impervious to the manipulation that leads to dehumanization and scapegoating. The truth sets free from lies. Live within the Truth.

This is the kind of legislation that must force the Church and Christians to elevate the requirements of our faith above the law. It is a forthright test of our allegiances: the Kingdom of God or the country?

Toying with the idea of a book on lessons for US Christians from USSR Christians. One lesson: samizdat (self-published news, satire, fact-finding) have an important role when media are either under gov’t control or lack courage. But, Christians have to earn public trust by living in Truth.

An important reminder to Protestants, too. Ordaining women is a return to the practices of the early church, not a concession to modern cultural shifts.
