Family man, historian, Classical world, theorised masculine power imbalance after Minoan Crete's Mycenaean invasion, love Mythinma, Mytilene, Zakynthos, UK Brockenhurst, write short stories, low level literary pretensions, good food, wine, coffee.
one of the issues for me is what is not known. It wasn’t hard for Peter Ackroyd in his marvellous Thames, Sacred River, to have me thinking about ancient Egypt’s influence in where we call Britain, and where else did Osiris and Isis work their magic on other Niles?

Wary of the rapprochement between Vietnam and China, especially because of the USA’s unreliability. The consequences seem to include SE Asia and the Indo-Pacific region siding with the devil they know while Australia, my country, is strung out on a wire, and forget about Taiwan and thence Ukrsine.

Love EU’s business leaders supporting Trump because they thought he wouldn’t act on his political programme. Something missing there.
