November selfie. Wanted to show a pair of new earrings (lavender coloured daisies!) but hard to get them in focus. You’ll have to settle for my face. 🫣

I don't remember what year this was, 2013? 2012? But here's a picture of us on a cliff overlooking the South China Sea. I think it was the northernmost tip of borneo or something like that. The view was amazing.

Picture of me being an awkward potato during the awards ceremony. A colleague-friend sent it to me.

It’s so pretty! And omg the Vice Chancellor actually came down the stage to present it to me. 🫣🫣🫣

That was so incredibly kind of him.

Watermyth’s award!

That one strand of white hair got prominent enough to photograph.

Been taking small detours and alternate routes on my commute home from work for the sake of my stupid mental health.

Post your first cell phone.

Well, I forgot which Motorola model but this looks pretty close.

I will always have a soft spot for Motorola phones. I also had a Motorola flip phone at some point.

Fancy a read this weekend set in a universe with multiple merkingdoms, loving descriptions of kitchens and communal preparations of food, ornate interiors and overlapping fairytale/mythology retellings? 🧜‍♀️ 🧜‍♂️ 🧜 🏰 ☄️ 🌊

What if Psyche was a Gen-X Malaysian transplanted from her home because of an otherworldly visitation? What if there were a race of Cupids? Read on to find out more in this mythic fantasy with cozy vibes, found family and dark academia overtones.

WATERMYTH : A literary revisioning of Cupid and Psyche as seen through the eyes of a memory-wiped siren storyteller who discovers things about herself and the people around her as she weaves through sonar and mer-time. Found family, cozy vibes, dark academia etc. 🧜‍♀️

My Chuck Taylor’s, my ratty socks, and me. Saying hello respectfully to the White Horse of Uffington. No, I did not walk or deface the nice horsey. I just said hello. In 2014 I climbed four hills in the UK. In the beforetimes when I was more ablebodied although still Girl With A Broken Back.

Here’s one of the margin notes that amused me because it was a Gothic Lit book in the fricking Radcliffe Camera. My week of bliss reading rare Gothic Lit monographs at the Bodleian in 2014.

Oldest selfie in my phone. Tintern Abbey, August 2014, during my epic solo roadtrip.

A memory-wiped mermaid-siren rehearsing for her storyteller exams tries to piece together events from the past, present and future while around her wars between merkingdoms are fomenting. 🧜🏼‍♀️🧜🏼‍♂️

Check out Watermyth!

The City by the Sea (1997-??)

This was a rough pencil and ink concept sketch of the Ferahia (in Watermyth), done in 1997 and later I digitally coloured it and added text. I never got around to doing art of the mer-kittings/sea-kittings but here’s a mer-feline gargoyle!

Once You Walk Out That Door…

This was a very emotional painting for me and was part of processing trauma as a longterm survivor of abuse + emancipation.
