To be clear, I am always soliciting (respectful) advice.
Government tyranny in action 😭

My other recommendation would be two-parter The '80s / The '90s by Robbie Williams. It's an unrepresentatively good bit of a weird and unpopular album, and it goes into the history of Take That and the beginning of his solo career, from his perspective.

Very happy with my evening's work 🎃🕯️🎶

The ones that hurt are Sananda Maitreya's brilliant and infamous second album, Adamski's live recorded debut, and John Cale's potential best '80s album. (The hip-hop of the year also gets nitpicks from me.)

Where can I buy Roger Cobb's low cut sweater from House (1985)?

Two of Us is me and my brother's song. I'm at his open mic rn 😊 Might sing that tonight...

Some intellectual on Twitter pissed me off, so today's soapbox bit comes in screencap form 🧐

Pub jukebox so far:
• (Get a) Grip on Yourself – The Stranglers
• Reward – The Teardrop Explodes
• Have a Nice Day – Stereophonics
• In the End – Linkin Park

Intrigued by that second suggestion. I always get super cheap ones like these, for the sake of this repeated point of failure.

Looking it up, I'm surprised to see more than the local outlets covering the story. People figure it's the artwork here. It depicts the artist I think, rear-on nude in the middle-distance, in a field where watermelons are growing. Click if you want, don't if you don't:

Lovely trip to the Sound Check exhibition at The Pit today. Feeling of how history continues to happen, as you look through people's gig photos and documents. Lots of contributors, they really filled the walls of the place 🎶

Exercise for the reader is to think about: If we help the youth through challenging times through good advice/ mentorship/ social provision with our taxes, and there are still Gamergate types out there, what we'd see on the PowerPoint slide in the famous comic?

Now happy to share my nominations, which I did think were mostly pretty basic music nerd choices, and also leave out some of my favourite artists whose eligible work was unexciting.

Bluesky ate this one earlier, so:

I wondered what a live recording of someone's DJ mix from the '80s, released as their debut album, would sound like – in content and overall sound. You'd think the purpose would be to prove Adamski's the hardest in the game... Maybe he was, but this is very breezy.

John Cale's Honi Soit is challenging at best, and mostly just unfinished sounding. And it bears this really half-assed Andy Warhol collage that they added a bunch of colours onto before putting out to customers.

Got up to 2011 in the Sananda Maitreya album chronology.

Having now read that, it does sound like an awesome watch 🙂

As for the Wikipedia article (always fun to find one you can fit in a whole screencap), is it simply incorrect that a series of twelve films exists then?

I think that was a later decision. Wikipedia provides one motive here.
