SO THIS! I live in the South. Honoring Midsummer with a bonfire is cruel and unusual punishment!

I finally realized that SCHEDULING was one of my biggest issues with Paganism in general. It felt forced. Once I started syncing the holidays to my local growing season things made WAY more sense.

And if THAT'S the case I might wind up starting my OWN Pagan group dammit. With LOCALLY-BASED ritual observances as the foundation. This seems like such a silly thing to overlook in an age of global travel and communication.

I emailed them to ask before I continue with the program. I've written up a very long, very thorough explanation of the calendar I use with multiple supporting sources. If not following their rigid schedule is an automatic fail then that's fine. That'll just mean the ADF isn't for me.

I am learning all kinds of things about privacy and I'm taking steps to lock down everything that I can. There's some stuff I can't get around, which isn't great, but I'll do what I can for my own peace of mind. This is ridiculous. That kind of info should require a warrant!

I have smart bulbs in my overhead lights set to "candlelight", cover all of my windows with blackout curtains, use a small lamp in the bathroom instead of the lights over the mirror (it's meant as a children's nursery lamp), and use sunglasses when I leave the house. That setup works pretty well!

Gotta give it to her. The fact that she can say that - and all the other insane nonsense she spouts - with a straight face is a special skill. Might make her a sociopath, but it's still a skill.

GrapheneOS is a security-first operating system for Pixel phones, an alternative to Android. It comes with a pretty minimal browser but I think you can remove it if you like. You can add any app you want through Google Play - and with more control over the permissions given when you add stuff, too.
